南韓保健福祉部11日表示，新增14例「中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒感染症」（MERS-CoV）確診病例，確診患者達122人。其中包括一名先前一度檢驗出MERS陽性反應的39歲孕婦，她也是南韓首位孕婦確診病例，雖然預產期已近，幸好目前病情穩定。

韓聯社稱，這名孕婦5月27日在三星首爾醫院急診室探望生病的母親，不幸染上MERS。因本月就是預產期，她在住進醫院後一同接受MERS檢測，未料驗出陽性結果。後來雖一度驗出陰性，但11日還是被衛生當局宣告為確診病患。

所幸這名孕婦目前病情穩定，只出現肌肉疼痛等症狀。由於孕婦不能接受干擾素、病毒唑等抗病毒藥物治療，因此計劃對其採取對症支持治療。另一名35歲的警察也是曾被檢測為MERS陰性，返家後病情惡化再次住院，才被確診為MERS病例。

世界衛生組織（WHO）考察團目前正在南韓調查，分析當地MERS發病原因和傳播特點。該考察團10日表示，南韓與其他地區的MERS傳染與學校並無關聯，建議南韓當局考慮恢復各級學校正常上課。WHO考察團預計將於13日上午召開記者會，公佈考察結果。
